Dutch Barge 15.34
Vision Doeve Brokers
This former inland cargo vessel has a rich history and, until 1938, was primarily engaged in transporting peat from the moorlands to urban areas. After her active freight service, the vessel was used as a houseboat. Since 1980, she has been carefully and respectfully restored to her former glory and returned into service. The interior is simple, atmospheric and functional, in keeping with the character of the vessel. In the forepeak there are two sleeping places. The hold has been converted into a cosy seating area with dinette, as well as a separate toilet compartment. From the hold there is access to the aft cabin, where the galley, a stove and the staircase to the aft deck are located. In the aft peak there is a comfortable double berth. Headroom throughout the vessel is limited. This sailing tjalk is well maintained, ready to cruise and ideally suited for recreational use, participation in nautical events or as a characterful piece of sailing heritage for the coming season.
