Motor Tugboat 13.90, IJssel
Vision Doeve Brokers
A beautiful motor tugboat with a remarkable and rich history. Originally built as an inland cargo vessel, the ship served in this capacity until April 1945. To prevent her from falling into German hands, the owner deliberately sunk the vessel at that time. In June 1947, she was salvaged and subsequently shortened and converted into a tug. Around the same period, the characteristic Brons engine was overhauled and installed. This engine is highly unique, the engine was by Brons equipped with an auxiliary compressor, significantly increasing its power output. This makes the vessel not only technically interesting, but also a valuable piece of floating heritage. The vessel successfully combines history with comfort and is well suited for extended stays on board. The layout includes, among other things, a forepeak with galley, seating area, ample storage space and a berth. Furthermore, there is a wheelhouse, a spacious engine room, and an aft cabin with a double berth and a toilet room with washbasin. With her unique history, authentic appearance and comfortable accommodation, this boat is highly attractive. In our opinion, this piece of maritime heritage will be a true eye-catcher in any historic harbor and a welcome guest at any nautical event. An excellent choice for enthusiasts looking for a boat with character and historical significance.
