Bestevaer is a Dutch sailing yacht brand known for its high quality and luxurious finish. The brand was founded by Dutch boat builder and designer Gerard Dijkstra in the 1990s.

When he was 19 years old, he worked as a deckhand on a Gallant 53. In just 12 months, he climbed from deckhand to skipper of a second Gallant with which he chartered in the Caribbean. For about a decade, he was a professional racing sailor, skilled in both solo races and full crew races. Determined to achieve greater success, he designed his first yacht, a single-handed transatlantic racer called Bestevaer.

The Bestevaer design was a great success and Dijkstra quickly developed a reputation as one of the most talented and innovative boat builders in the world. In the years that followed, Dijkstra designed and built a series of Bestevaer models in different sizes, ranging from 36 to 78 feet. Each model was built with a strong focus on performance, safety and comfort on board. Since then, Bestevaer motor yachts have also been designed and built.

Today, Bestevaer is an established brand in the sailing yacht industry and continues to focus on designing and building high-quality luxury sailing yachts and motor yachts. The company works closely with KM Yachtbuilders.
