The company was founded by Piet Wouda and has developed into one of the leading yacht builders in the Netherlands. The history of Super Lauwersmeer goes back to 1969, when the first shipyard was founded in the Frisian village of Westergeast. In 1998 the yard was taken over by Frisian Motor Boats BV with the brothers Bastiaan and Louis Jousma and the company moved to the current location in Noardburgum. Since then, Super Lauwersmeer has specialized in the production of luxury motor yachts from 10 to 17 metres.

The current range of Super Lauwersmeer consists of three different models: the Discovery AC, the Discovery OC and the SLX54. Super Lauwersmeer is known for her craftsmanship and eye for detail. Each yacht is tailor-made and fully tailored to the wishes of the customer.
