Jachtwerf Grouwster Vlet is a renowned shipyard located in the Frisian village of Grou. The yard is known for its high-quality ships and has since its foundation in 1978 become a household name in the Dutch water sports world.

The origins of the shipyard go back to 1978, when the then owner decided to turn his passion for water sports into his own company. He started building barges, a type of ship known for its stability and robust construction. The barges quickly became popular among water sports enthusiasts and the yard grew steadily.

Grouwster Vlet Shipyard is now run by Bart and Rita, who took over the company in 2014. Under their leadership, the yard has been further expanded and modernized, while traditional craftsmanship and traditional working methods have been preserved.

Various types of ships are built at the yard, ranging from luxury barges to beautiful cutters. One of the most famous models is the Grouwster vlet, the original model with which the yard started. These flatboats are still custom built and are equipped with all modern conveniences and luxury.

The yard employs a team of experienced professionals who work with great passion and dedication on building the ships. Use is made of high-quality materials and modern techniques, whereby the traditional craftsmanship is never lost sight of.
